Hawaii has always been a destination state. Seen as a tropical paradise, tourist, honeymooners, conference organizers, and outdoor enthusiasts put Hawaii on the top of their lists. The are only two ways to get to Hawaii, by boat or by jet. While many international airlines fly to the islands, there is still a limit to the amount of flights available. If you are planning on traveling to Hawaii, or especially one of the outer islands like Kauai, it is a good idea to book you flights well in advance. During the busy seasons, which are your traditional holidays and summer time, tickets can be hard to come by and prices are at a premium. There are also a number of inter-island business commuters, so early morning flights and late afternoon flights can often fill up months in advance. Cruises ships are a popular alternative for vacationing in Hawaii. Many of the ships visit each island and if booked at certain times of year, can be very affordable.  These same rules apply to rental cars and hotel rooms.  The are thousands of hotel rooms, vacation rentals and condos for rent, so finding a room is not always a hard task.  But getting a place where you want and for a reasonable price, depends on your due diligence and also booking in advance.  Rental cars on the other hand are limited.  During peak times, it is not uncommon for companies to run out of available rental stock.
